Hello,

I am Najuma, on October  27, 2018 my son Daniel Brown was shot in the face.  He was instantly rendered unconscious. Over a three day period me and his dad, family and friends watched as his life came to its final sunset on October 29, 2018 at 4:25pm.

I have spent nearly 2 plus years writing about my journey thru grief and trusting God in this ultimate surrender. I pray you find whatever you need to live!

In 2013, 5 years before Dr. Najuma would lose her own son Daniel S. Brown, to violence, she was speaking up for the voiceless mothers in her sermon “I AM RIZPAH!”. Today she is launching, 5 hears after her son’s murder – I AM RIZPAH Breakfast. See story of the sermon here.

The Book

Why Getting Through Grief?

Reverend Najuma invites readers into an intimate space to share with readers how her faith has been Reshaped and Rediscovered following the tragic death of her son, Daniel. Her book opens with an in-depth recount of those three days from the time Daniel is shot to the moment he is released to God; and the months following she struggles to believe in God and Grieve. The Pastor must still preach Faith; while the Mother hurts gravely from Loss and the two are one.
